- evacuate- if you can evacuate -> there can be secondary bombs
- remain- if you are injured, blocked in, or there is a threat: remain -> shelter and hide
- take- action to render aid

- shock wave of blast pressure -> brain injury, ruptures
- thermal effect- fire and heat -> burns, fires
- fragmentation- pieces of bombs and objects in the environment -> injuries
- closer you are the worse the impact
unawareness

if you are in safe location during an explosion
- go as far away as you can and shelter in place
- best chance of continued safety
bomb checklist
-before evacuation someone needs to assess the credibility of a threat
-then there is an investigation
-remain calm and keep the person on the line as long as possible
-write a note as the call is going on to inform people around you
-listen to background noise, speech patterns
-do not hang up the phone even if they hung up
