Breaks down food into particles that are small enough to pass through the walls of the intestine into the blood stream.
Musculoskeletal system function
Supports the body, protects organs such as the heart and brain, and enables movement.
Endocrine system function
Coordinates the processes in the body by releasing hormones into the bloodstream.
Respiratory system function
Takes oxygen into the body and removes carbon dioxide from the body.
Nervous system function
Coordinates processes in the body by sending messages that travel through the nerves.
Circulatory system
Carries oxygen and nutrients to all cells in the body; carries waste away from cells.
Reproductive system
Is involved in reproduction (making babies).
Immune system
Protects the body from disease.
