A

Carrying out abdominal thrusts

A

Go behind patient and wrap your arms around under their arms
Clench weakest fist with thumb against area just below xiphisternum and place strongest hand around this fist and make pulling action upwards

What to do if infant is too young to understand your command to cough

A

Pick baby up and have them lying down forearm with your hand around their chin- carry out 5 gentle back blows. Then roll baby over so that their occipital bone is in your palm and press with 2 fingers on the middle of their sternum 5 times. Keep alternating between the 2 manouvers

A

Roll onto their back
Have arm nearest you laid out towards you
Place opposite hand on their cheek with the dorsal surface against their cheek
Bend far kee up and using the kee roll towards you
