What are anticoagulants/Blood thinners?
used for the treatment of blood clots and block the bodies ability to clot the blood. it does not actually thin the blood
Warfarin
Coumadin: Vitamin K antagonist anticoagulants block vitamin k which is needed to form blood clots. needed blood tests
Apixaban
Eliquis: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOAs) no needed blood tests, Direct factor Xa inhibitors
Rivaroxaban
Xerelto: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOAs) no needed blood tests, Direct factor Xa inhibitors

Ecotrin: Antiplatelets(platelet aggregation inhibitors) work by preventing platelet from sticking together.
