What are Biomes?
Biomes are a large collection of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat.
What is climate?
Climate is the average weather conditions over a long period. And over large areas
What is relief?
Relief is how the landscapes change in height.
Give one reason as to why rainforests are being chopped down.
Rainforests are chopped down because of farming. Every year, large areas of the rainforests are being cut down for cattle ranches that produce beef.
What are rainforests?
Rainforests are areas which are found near the equator. in central parts of Africa and Asia. They are hot and humid and contain a huge variety of plants and animals. It’s home to half of the world’s species.
What are savannas?
Savannas are hot tropical areas grasslands which are hot and dry. They’ve got 2 seasons. A dry one where most of the vegetation dies back. A rainy season when it grows back.
What are coniferous forests?
Coniferous forests are forests with evergreen trees. They can be found in parts of Canada and Russia. These forests have a cool climate with heavy rainfall.
What are tundras?
Tundras are areas of which surround the the north and south poles. They have an extremely cold climate, with limited numbers of plants and animals able to survive there.
