Q

What are carbohydrates, glucose and starch and sugars?

A

Carbohydrates are substances that include starch, sugar and cellulose. They are made up of oxygen, carbon and hydrogen.
Carbohydrates that have relativly small molecules. they are soluble in water and taste sweet .
Glycogen: a tyype of carbohydrate that is used as an energy srouces in animal cells
Starch: A carbohydrate that is used as an energy source in plant cells.

What are fats, lips and oils?

A

Fats: Lipids that are solid at room temperature
Oil: Lipids that are liquid at room temperature
Lipids: Susbstances made out of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, they are insoluble in water and are used as energy sources in living organisms

Q

What is the function of the DNA?

A

DNA contains a code, that instructs which amino acids link together and in which sequence to form protein molecules. Sequences of bases in DNA determine the sequence of amino acids used to build proteins.
It determines the organism body structure and the metabolic reactions that take place.

Q

What doe the DNA nucleotide, and what does it consist of?

A

DNA contains nucleotide, each nucleotide is made of a bases. They are the base’s A,C,G ant T, their sequence determines the proteins made in cells. Nucleotide: Molecules that are linked together in long chains to make up a DNA molecule.
