Q

What are the functions of sodium ions?

A

Responsible for co-transport + nervous system
~ communication between neurones
Helps glucose + amino acids enter cell - through co-transport eg. Digestive system

Q

What are phosphate ions functions?

A

Used in cell membrane, DNA, RNA, ATP
Often found in phosphate groups (PO4 3-).
~attached to many bio molecules
In DNA, RNA, ATP energy stored in between bonds between them.
Found in phospholipids which form phospholipid bilayer
