Why did Stalin decide to a create a blockade
He hated having a ‘tiny island of capitalism in a communist area’.He knew that berlin was weak as it was surrounded by Soviet territory and there were only 2 agreed land routes and air corridors from west germany to west berlin.He wanted to show the USA,Britan and France that a divided Germany wouldent work.If the blockade could be sucessful then he would have a huge propoganda gain and would gain important territory.

This was an operation launched by the allies where they flew neccesities into West Berlin in order to provide for the people there to help them not to give up the important peice of territory
