benign skin lesions - abnormal proliferation of capillaries

red, papular, 1-3mm, non-blanching

benign fibrous lesions - growth of dermal dentritic cells
when and where do dermatofibromas usually occur
after injury, arms and legs

solitary papule or nodule // 5- 10mm // skin dimples when pinched

elderly // volcano (smooth dome) –> crater filled with keratin // results in a scar

urgent excision as look like SCC
where do lipomas generally develop (layer of skin)
usually subcut, can be deep adipose

leave alone or shave excision
what is congenital melanocytic naevi and malignancy risk
appear just after birth // >1cm // increased risk of malignancy
what are junctional melanocytic naevi
circular macules on palms, soles, and mucous membranes
what are compound naevi
arrise from junctional naevi, domes, smooth and uniform colour
what are spitz naevus
develop in children // pink or red on face or leg // fast growing –> excise
