Types of bed making
Occupied bed : patient is occupying the bed
Unoccupied bed : no patient occuping the bed
Post-operative bed : prepare the bed for patient’s post-operation phase

Nursing considerations when bed bath
assess patient conscious level
assess condition of skin
ensure patient’s safety
check the flow of infusion line after washing
Types of urine specimen
Random urine
Mid-stream urine (MSU) : idenify microoragisms causing UTI
Catheterized urine (CSU)
Time urine specimen : discard first urine
Rountine urine testing ( chemical exam )

Ketone : Prolonged fasting / poorly controlled DM / Ketonuria
Specific gravity : to see hydration status
low -> kidney failure
high-> dehydration
Protein : proteinuria / pregnancy
Glucose : DM / pregnancy
Test for sputum
- Culture & sensitivity (C&ST) : identify a specific microoragisms and drug sensitivity
- Cytology : idenity the origin, structure, function of cells
- Acid-fast bacilli : identify presence of TB / required 3 consecutive mornings
