What were the battle events?
A
.Both armies formed up on hills with a small valley between them.
- Parliament sends Dragoons around the hedge on the left of the battlefield and Fire and Prince Rupert’s Cavalry.
- Prince Rupert starts a sudden charge at the Parliament Cavalry, he beats the cavalry and forces them off the field. However, rather than attacking the Parliament’s centre he attacks the baggage train is off the field of battle.
- Charles then orders his infantry to attack the Parliament centre. Fairfax holds the centre and is supported by Cromwell’s cavalry.
- Cromwell attacks Royalist cavalry on the right flank and beats them. Rather than chasing after them he controls his men and sends them into the Royalist centre which causes they collapse and the battle is over in 45 minutes.
