Role of barrister
Represent a business or individuals in court
Give legal advice to clients

Training of Barrister
Once law degree is obtained, have to study at one of the inns of court.
Then study for a year or 2 years part-time to complete BVC which gives them the right skills and knowledge. Once BVC, must secure pupillage.
If they have a different degree they must complete CPE then complete same procedure
Some students can enter without degree but conditions are strict
Role of solicitor
Provide legal advice to clients in exchange of a fee
Usually carry out work outside of courtroom and allow barrister to represent inside court but do have advocacy
Training of solicitor
Obtain law degree then obtain LPC. Once LPC is obtained must complete a 2 year training contract then be employed as a trainee by a firm.
Who hears complaints against solicitors
LSO, OSS or court action
What is a legal excuetive
Solicitor without degree
Do routine legal work under solicitor
