A

Chemical in your tears kill microbes
Nose produces mucus to trap microbes
Skin covers you whole body. Stops microbes getting in and if you get a cut a scab forms.

Why do you develop ‘immunity’ to a disease after the fist exposure ?

A

Your body has the specific antibodies to neutralise the pathogenic bacterium, the antibodies will be rapidly reproduces so the pathogen gets killed before symptoms worsen

What are 3 ways your blood defends against diseases ?

A

Phagocyte: phagocytosis, the white blood cells engulfs the pathogen

Lymphocyte: antibodies, bind to the receptors of the pathogen and can either neural use them or call for phagocytes

Lymphocyte : anti toxins, neutralises toxins produced by bacteria
