How does light intensity affect transpiration?
Increasing it will speed up photosynthesis
More stomata open, allowing more water to evaporate
More water evaporation means increased rate of transpiration
How does temperature affect transpiration?
Molecules faster, faster evaporation, faster transpiration
More stomata open for more water vapour diffusion
How does air movement affect transpiration?
More air moving away from leaf, lower concentration of water vapour
- this means steeper concentration gradient and faster diffusion
How does humidity affect transpiration?
If high, reduces concentration gradient between water vapour in and out of leaf
- lowers rate of diffusion

Movement of food made in leaves up/down phloem
