Organisations financed and directed by the government
Primary health care

care which includes most hospital services, normally accessed by a GP referral
Tertiary health care
Complex specialist care provided in highly specialised units and hospitals by referral from the healthcare professionals who identified need
Public services
health services largely financed by the government that manage the delivery of hospital services

level of ill health in an area

The voluntary sector
they rely on donations but may also receive government support

managed by independent business to make profit
