Autonomics Flashcards
Two parts of autonomics
Parasympathetic and sympathetic
What CN helps you talk?
X
ANS voluntary or involuntary?
Involuntary
Where to PS nerves originate
Cranial nerves or sacrum
Where does sympathetic system originate?
T1 - L2
Chain Ganglia
Where sympathetic nerves synapse when exit spinal cord
Where to Sympathetic nerves originate?
Thoracic cord
Which nerves carry parasympathetic function (GVE)?
3,7,9,10
Where do sympathetic, reganglionic neurons send fibers out?
Ventral root
Where are sympathetic ganglionic neurons located?
Chain ganglion
Which sympathetic neurons are short and myelynated? Long and unmylenated?
Pre ganglionic Post
What is responsible for vasomotor (sympathetic) tone?
The sympathetic division
Peripheral ganglia
PS fibers located very near or directly on the effector organ
Which parasympathetic neurons are short and myelynated? Long and unmylenated?
Preganglionic fibers are long and myelinated. Postganglionic fibers are short and not myelinated
What does PS use?
ACH at both synapses
