Where are the FD modes displayed?
FMA area of each PFD
What modes does the selection of the GA button give you?
- GA mode (10 degrees pitch up)
- Wings level, is the FD lateral mode selected
- WING LVL and GA are displayed on PFD
- all FD armed modes are disarmed
What are the basic lateral flight director modes?
- ROLL HOLD
- WING LVL
- HDG HOLD
What are the differences between HDG HOLD and HDG SEL?
- HDG HOLD limits FD commands to +/- 13 degrees of roll attitude
- HDG SEL limits FD commands to a greater +/- 24 degrees of roll attitude, and rate limited to +/-4 degrees/second roll rate
What does roll hold provide you with?
FD commands to hold the target roll attitude, which is equivalent to the bank angle that existed at mode engagement, or when the TCS switch was released with the bank angle greater than 6 degrees.
Roll attitude is limited to +/- 45 degrees
Will the TCS disengage the autopilot?
No

What is required to enter DUAL FD mode?
- Both FGM’s are available
- Both AHRS are Valid for both FGM’s
- the EFIS ATT/ HDG Source Selection switch is set to the NORM position
- Both ADC’s are Valid for both FGM’s

May the autopilot be used in severe Icing or sever turbulence?
No
Is it possible to be engaged in VS mode and IAS mode at the same time?
No
What is the indication that mode is in capture?
An (*) beside the mode being captured.
Example: ALT*
What is the difference in the display of active and armed FD modes?
Active are in green on top, armed are in White below the active mode in green.
When are the FD modes displayed in reverse video?
Lateral, Vertical mode engaged. Turns green reverse video for 5 seconds then switches to normal video.
