A
  • categories us into ‘us’ and ‘them’ groups
  • individuals with a very strict upbringing by critical and harsh parents were most likely to develop authoritarian personality
  • Adorno belived that inividuals in the question was not able to express hostility towards their parents
  • the person would then display the aggression/hostility onto safer targets, namely those who are perceived as them as weak such as ethnic minorities
