Audiograms Flashcards
1
Q
What are your 4 audiogram rules:
A
- >20dB line = normal.
- Conductive hearing loss - air conduction is impaired.
- Sensorineural hearing loss - both air and bone conduction are impaired.
- Mixed hearing loss = both air and bone conduction are impaired but air conduction is often ‘worse’ than bone.
2
Q
What type of hearing loss is this?
A
Conductive Hearing loss
3
Q
What type of hearing loss is this?

A
Mixed Hearing loss
A mixed loss refers to a conductive loss and a sensorineural loss occurring at the same time. While the conductive component may be treated, the sensorineural component is permanent.
4
Q
What type of hearing loss is this?

A
Sensori neural hearing loss.
A sensorineural loss refers to a problem located in the inner ear or along the nerve pathway between the inner ear and the brain.
