What are attitudes
What you think of something and what you see value in
Attitude formation
By associating with significant others and picking up their values and opinions
When actions are reinforced by significant others, attitudes are more likely to be learnt
Can become conditioned by successful actions
Attitudes can be negative
Attitude components (triadic model)
Cognitive - deep rooted beliefs
Affective - feelings and emotions of a player and how they’re interpreted
Behaviour - actions of the performer

Persuasive communication
Cognitive dissonance
Describe persuasive communication
Communicating to promote change/talked into
Hard when dealing with deep rooted beliefs
Must be relevant/easy to understand/of high quality (given by a significant other)/timing (BETTER STRAIGHT AFTER A LOSS)
