The ICTZ is a band of low pressure where the trade winds meet.

A
Maritime air is pushed upwards, cooling and condensing to form clouds which produce rain

A
[Furthest north] is drier than the south as it is affected by the tropical continental air mass for most of the year whereas the south is affected by the tropical maritime for most of the year.

[Most coastal/furthest south] has a twin peak due to the ITCZ moving north in the early part of the year then south in the later part of the year in line with the thermal equator
