Qualifications for Major depressive disorder (MDD)
has at least five sx, which must occur almost every day for a minimum of 2 weeks, and last most of the day
Postpartum depression
begins within 4 weeks of childbirth and may include delusions
Dysthymic disorder
milder depression that has an early onset, ie childhood or adolescence, and lasts at least 2 years in adults (1 year in children), has at least 3 clinical sx of depression.

relapse prevention through education, medication therapy, and psychotherapy
