Docket
Also called trail docket. A list of cases in court for trial, or names of the parties who have cases pending.
Jargon
Special words and phrases that are used by particular groups of people, especially in their work. Most other people do not understand
Example:
Bang for the buck: get the most for your money
The 9-to-5: standard work day
Cusp
A point of transition; the time of change between two different states.
On the cusp of something or
On the cusp between A and B
Example:
Two girls on the cusp of adulthood
He was on the cusp between small acting roles and moderate fame
Glean
To gather; information or material bit by bit
Epiphany
A moment when you suddenly feel that you understand; revealing moment
A powerful religious experience
Precocious
(Especially in children) showing mental development or achievement much earlier than usual; exhibiting mature qualities at an unusual early age
Syndicate
A group of individuals or organizations combined to promote some common interest
Imprudent
Lacking discretion, wisdom, or good judgment
Astute
Mentally sharp or clever; shrewd, smart
Inaugural
First; marking a beginning: first in a projected series
mainly for presidents like a presidents first speech; inauguration
Surge
A sudden and great increase
Or great movement forward
Or increase of an emotion
Reprimand
To express disapproval ( to someone or something)
To censure severely or angrily
( to censure is to blame or criticize as wrong on someone)
Fortuitous
Occurring by chance or bringing or happening in luck
Lucid
Clear, easy to understand, comprehensible
Perturb
Annoy or pester
