What to look for while brushing
Swollen red gums Bleeding gums White patches Sores Painful or sensitive areas Ill fitting dentures Broken dentures Bad breath that does not go away
What is aspiration
Inhalation of fluids or other foreign materials into the lungs.
Aspiration can lead to pneumonia
What to look for when shampooing or brushing hair
Sores on the scalp
Unusual flaking or dandruff
Excessive hair loss
Tangles that cannot be removed
What are the possible problems with compression stocking
Stockings have holes across tops of the toes.
This is for checking a persons toes for changes
Such as poor circulation,, bluish color or coldness
Check hourly
If person has been standing and needs compression socks what do you do?
Sit in chair or bed with legs elevated for 15 minutes
What should be observed if person wears glasses
Person does not seem to see well wearing them
If person makes the above statement
Eye glasses pinch or rub the persons ears or nose or slip down nose
Eyeglasses in need of repair.
What to look for while doin hand care
Reddened or dis colored areas Sores Hang nails Badly torn nails Nails that are oddly shaped Unusually thick nails Nail beds that are blue or pale
