- what ground levels of buildings were used for, via RICEPOTS
- RICEPOTS = resi, indust, commercial, entertainment, public building, open space, transport, services
- more info per category for more detail, e.g. C could be Cf or Cd
- no of floors counted on CBD

advantages
A
- map is v visual = ez to compare sites
- gives exact, detailed info from RICEPOTS
- simple to conduct
- quick way to get up to date info = easy to redo for changes
- gives sense of wealth, safety, potential foot traffic

disadvantages
A
- if printed map being used isnt up to date = hard to conduct, misclassification, confusing for conducter
- some buildings may fit into several/none categories = misclassification = inaccurate
- more detail for buildings, e.g. commercial food can list products being sold

conclusion
A
suitable bc:
* useful info
* ez to process into pie charts & bar graphs = ez visual comparison
* reliable to certain extent bc objective & data can be double checked via google street view
* map used might;ve been out of date
* could be rushed in areas the person was conducitng knew well
