A
- emergency batt checked & working
- if emergency batt volts are low, flight in IMC is prohibited
- EBD pilots guid revision A or later available to flight crew
- use if EBD for IFR within 750 nm of mag north or South Pole NOT AUTHORIZED

What is the Aspen Evolution Backup Display (EBD)
A
- AFM 7-45
- independent flight instrument
- provides attitude, barometric altitude, airspeed, heading, vertical speed, slip/skid & turn indications
- this system provides a reference to cross-check the G1000 system
- basic flight information during G1000 failure

How is power supplied to the EBD system?
A
- essential bus
- both alternators are inoperative if will continue to operate on essential bus until primary battery is depleted
- it will then operate on emergency battery bus for 30 minutes

What happens the EBD during complete electrical failure?
A
- revert to its internal batteries for an additional 30 minutes
- “ON BAT” and displays charge state
