Inscription says empress wu zetian is patroness and paid for with own private money. Vairocana is Big buddha, surrounded by monks, guardian figures, and bodhisattvas, people who take longer to reach enlightenment because they help others.

Top is heaven, Middle is Earth, bottom is underworld. Intertwining dragons in Middle, one light one dark. Idea of yin yang. There’s sun and moon on top. Wettest mummy ever found, 2,000 years after death.
