What are the 6 main steps in a cardiovascular exam?
Signalment, History, observation, palpation, percussion, auscultation.
What types of things may you be looking for in signalment in a cardiovascular exam?
Age (young, congenital defect?, older, acquired?), Size of dog (small; primary mitral valve, large; DCM/myocardial), breed predispositions.
What types of things may you be looking for in history in a cardiovascular exam?

Abdomen: fluid thrills
What are the important things to auscultate in a cardiovascular exam?
Heart - normal cardiac cycle, murmurs, rate, rhythm
Thorax - lung sounds
