- extra celiulaur fluid moves into intravasculla and intistisul space
- safacted in in aveoli washes away
- collapse of alveoli
- ineffective gas exchange
- excessive fluid leads to APO

The accumulation of fluid in the lung tissues and alveoli leading to the collapse of alveoli and inadequate gas exchange causing respiratory failure.
