1- provide a calm environment, stay with the client, decrease environmental stimuli

NEVER INTERRUPT their rituals unless it causes danger to them or others - Give them time to perform their rituals but set limits on the behaviors that may interfere with their physical well-being to protect them from harm
- make a schedule for them to help them be distracted
-establish a written contract to decrease the frequency of the behavior
