What is the difference between heparin and LMW heparin?

A

mucopolysaccharides

Bind to and activate antithrombin III and this then inactivates factor Xa and thrombin.

The low MW heparins, enoxaparin and dalteparin, also bind to factor Xa but not to thrombin.
