How do you diagnose the ankle/foot?

A

TART

  • TT changes, tenderness (including maleoli)
  • ROM:
  • Ankle Plantarflexion - 55-65
  • Ankle Dorsiflexion - 15-20
  • Ankle inversion - 20
  • Ankle Eversion - 10-20
  • Assess motion of Tarsals
  • Assess motion of Metatarsals

Diagnose according to restricted motion
Preferably one the ankle ROMs

Assess BILTAERALLY

How do you do a Direct ankle treatment?

A

MET

Either put them in plantar flexion barrier or dorsiflexion barrier

Reassess

How do you do an indirect treatment for the ankle?

A

Put ankle into all indirect barriers at once, follow the realease until no more creep
