Anatomy: Osteology Flashcards
What is L5 Spondylolysis?
Separation of the vertebral arch from the body.
What is L5 spondylolisthesis?
Abnormal anteriorly directed separateion of the L5 vertebral segment from the sacrum.
What are the 4 pelvic shapes?
- Android (classically male)
- Gynecoid (clasically female)
- Anthropoid (elongated A –> P)
- Platypelloid (elongated laterally)
What is an important consideration when determining if a female can bear a child?
Pelvic diameters (conjugates)
Why does the pelvis usually always fracture in multiple places?
Cause it is a bony ring. Usually pubic rami are brokem on both sides.
What are the 3 parts of the broad ligament of the uterus?
- Mesometrium
- Mesoalpinx
- Mesovarium
(and suspensory ligament)
What is the pudendal canal made of?
Obturator Fascia (which then comes from membranous pelvic fascia)
Where does the uteroscaral L. come from?
Membranous pelvic fascia
What is made of loose endopelvic fascia?
retropubic space, paravesical space, pelvirectal space, retrorectal space
What is made of condensed endopelvic fascia?
Hypogastric sheath –> middle lamina of hypogastric sheath –> transverse cervical L.
What are the contents of the male superficial perineal pouch?
Bulb + crura of penis
Superficial perineal muscles
proximal spongy urethra
branches of internal pudendal A. + V. and of the pudendal N.
What are the contents of the female superficial perineal pouch?
Crura of the clitoris
Bulbs of the vestibule
Superficial perineal muscles
greater vestibular glands
branches of internal pudendal A. + V. and of the pudendal N.
What are the contents in the male deep perineal pouch?
Membranous urethra
Muscles of the urogenital diaphragm
Bulbourethral glands
What are the contents of the female deep perineal pouch (means it is deep to perineum)?
Muscles of the urogenital diaphragm
