Anatomic Basis For Clinical Testing Flashcards
What are the reasons for muscle impairments?
Nerves (Spinal or Peripheral) Disuse Injury / Mechanical Stress Disease Ischemia
NDIDI!
What are the clinical signs of muscle impairment?
Weakness - through force, endurance, power
Atrophy

WAP
Describe the difference between sensory testing and muscle testing.
In both instances you would begin by looking either for a dermatomal or myotomal pattern of symptoms
Then, you would look at peripheral patterns
TAKE HOME: In muscle testing you are looking for symptoms NOT representative of a neurological pattern.
What are symptoms of peripheral circulatory impairment?
Color
Absent Pulse
Pain
Swelling
