Q

Mechanism of Action

pramlintide (Symlin)

A

Synthetic version of a human neuroendocrine hormone called amylin. Amylin is normally
produced in the pancreas to assist in postprandial glucose control (after a meal) by slowing
stomach emptying, inhibiting the release of glucagon after meals, and by reducing appetite
