Mechanical digestion- bile
Secretes intestinal juice containing enzymes for digestion
Lined with villi for absorption of nutrients
Nutrients absorbed through diffusion and active process
Caecum
First part of large intestine
Large intestine
Absorption of water through osmosis
Rectum
Final part of large intestine where faces are formed
Anus
Opening surrounded by anal sphincter where faces are passed to exterior
Mouth cavity
Mechanical digestion- chewing of teeth
Chemical digestion- salivary amylase in saliva which works on starch
