Inside a Class B airspace depiction on a navigational chart you see this symbol. What does it mean?
Class B airspace within the blue solid lines surrounding this symbol begins at 8,000’MSL and stops at 12,000’MSL
What is the Mode C veil?
- Must have an operating Transponder w/ Mode C
- Must have ADS-B
- Extends from the surface to 10,000’MSL
- Depicted by a solid magenta circle, usually surrounding 30NM around the primary airport within the Class B airspace
Class C airspace altitudes
- Directly above the airfield extending to a 5NM radius, from the surface to 4,000’AGL
- The outer shelf from 5 to 10NM is usually from 1,200’AGL - 4,000’AGL

A dashed magenta line surrounding an airfield means
Class E airspace beginning at the surface
A faded magenta line surrounds
Class E airspace beginning at 700’ AGL, Class G beneath
A faded blue line surrounds
Class E airspace beginning at 1,200’ AGL, with Class G beneath
A castellated blue line surrounding a section of airspace defines…
