  • Domestic en route - sharp side of magenta lines - 1200-17999 MSL
  • Above - 14500-17999 MSL

Name and define the different types of special use airspace.

A

MCPRAWN

  • Military operations area (MOA) - magenta hash marks - Permission is not required to enter
  • Controlled firing - not shown on sectionals - firing will cease when radar detects an incoming aircraft
  • Prohibited - Wide blue border with sharp outer edge - cannot enter!
  • Restricted - Wide blue line of hash marks - flight through may be possible when not active, but must get permission from controlling agency
  • Alert - Blue border - don’t need permission
  • Warning - Hazardous area that lies over international waters, beyond 3 mile limit
  • National security (TFR) - sporting events, presidential events, etc.
