AIRPLANE GENERAL Flashcards

1
Q

How does the Flight Deck door respond to pressurization decompression events?

A

The door features two decompression panels that allow air to vent from the Passenger Cabin into the Flight Deck in the event of a rapid decompression in the Flight Deck.

In the event of a Passenger Cabin decompression, the entire Flight Deck door may open, permitting Flight Deck air to vent into the Passenger Cabin.

Q

How is the failure of the overwing emergency exit Flight Lock System indicated?

A

If a flight lock has failed locked or a fault is detected, the MAINT light and the OVERHEAD System Annunciator and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate. These indications are inhibited from the first engine start until 30 seconds after landing. When the doors are latched and locked, and the flight lock is operating properly none of these lights will illuminate.

Q

When will the emergency exit lights illuminate?

A

If electrical power to DC bus No. 1 fails or if AC power has been removed, the emergency exit lights illuminate automatically.

The ON position commands the emergency exit lights to illuminate.

The EMERGENCY EXIT LIGHTS switch on the aft attendant panel may also be used to illuminate the emergency exit lights.

Q

What is the purpose of the MUTE switch on the INTERNET - GROUND control panel?

A

The MUTED switch, when pressed, deactivates the transmit function of the 2Ku antennas mounted on the upper aft fuselage.

Due to radiation emissions that can be harmful to the human body, personnel should not be within the RF hazard area when the 2Ku satellite antenna is transmitting.
