A
- age-related changes = impaired performance, e.g. kidney function begins to decline from 30 years old
- body functions = less effective e.g. temp regulation = less effective in infants and older adults
- Maturity of body functions with maximal efficiency during puberty
- We can repair and replace the tissues except the brain
- People’s lifestyle choices may also influence longevity e.g. obesity and cigarette smoking could lead to cancer, COPD and dementia
