common or serious adverse effects
A
CNS – stimulation are depression
GI – commonly occur
Hematologic –relatively common and potentially a life-threatening
Hepatic – potentially life threatening
Nephrotoxicity –potentially serious as interferes with excretion
Hypersensitivity or allergy –largely unpredictable and unrelated to dose
Drug fever –may begin hours after first dose up to 10 days into administration
Idiosyncrasy –unexpected response
Drug dependence –physiologic or psychologic
Carcinogenicity – occurs to two drug induced and alterations in cellular DNA
Teratogenicity-ability of substance to cause abnormal fetal development when taken during pregnancy
