the goal is for the patient to feel competent and connected, the overarching goal of Adlerian psychotherapy is to help the patient overcome feelings of inferiority.

Adlerians believe that the client is not “sick” but discouraged. So, encouragement is used in all stages of therapy to help effect change, not necessarily only insight.
Adlerian Therapy interventions:

Middle Stage:
