Q
Adductor magnus
A
Origin: - Anterior fibers: inferior pubic ramus - Posterior fibers: ischial tuberosity - Oblique fibers: ischial ramus Insertion: - Proximal 1/3 of linea aspera - Adductor tubercle Action: - Adducts hip - Posterior fibers extend and laterally rotate the hip Nerve: - Anterior fibers: obturator - Posterior fibers: tibial
2
Q
Adductor longus
A
Origin: - Anterior surface of pubis, just inferior to the pubic ramus Insertion: - Medial lip of linea aspera on middle half of femur Action: - Adducts hip - Flexes hip (from extended position) Nerve: - Obturator - L2-4
3
Q
Adductor brevis
A
Origin: - Body & inferior pubic ramus Insertion: - Superior portion of linea aspera Action: - Adducts hip - Flexes hip (from extended position) Nerve: - Obturator - L2-4
4
Q
Gracilis
A
Origin: - Inferior pubic ramus Insertion: - Medial surface of proximal tibia, inferior to tibial condyle - Contributes to pes anserine Action: - Adducts hip - Flexes knee - Medially rotates tibia Nerve: - Obturator - L2-4
5
Q
Pectineus
A
Origin: - Pectineal line of pubis Insertion: - Pectineal line of femur Action: - Hip adduction - Flexes hip - Medially rotates hip Nerve: - Femoral and accessory obturator
