set up as a press conference with the audience on the side of the press charachters enter through the audience, modern day style. Similar to the 1979 BBC production although as it is a TV prodcution they are in a room with cameras, Isabella’s stroy is put on TV for them to see. Cheek by Jowl’s Isabella kisses Claudio’s feet finding out he’s alive and he brushes her off BBC production the siblings embrace.

How does the Duke leave act 5
Duke asks provost to find the friar before exiting to return as the friar leaving Angelo to be the judge. After he returns Lucio claims that he the friar had called the duke a “fool” & a “coward” trying to cover for himself as the friar has heard what he said about the duke.
After the friar is uncovered
The Duke threatens to execute Angelo so Mariana kneels to the Duke begging for his life Isabella joins her also wanting mercy for him. Angelo, Claudio & Barnadine are pardoned. Everyone but barnadine has to marry (lucio to kate keepdown).
The duke condeming Angelo
“We do condemn thee to the very block where Claudio stooped to death” dramatic irony as Claudio is alive “
Angelo feels guilty
“I should be guiltier than my guiltiness”
Mariana wants to mary Angelo

How does Angelo’s strict ruling style go
We see more people undermine the law Provost, isabella ect

It confirms central morals of the play, who is someone to get to pass judgement, no matter who it is
Isabella evoloution through the play
Begins with impassioned speaches , is then shown that these men don’t have her best interests in mind so looks to the church in the form of the friar to determine her actions her autonomy becoming less and less her own, until the friar who was not a friar reveals himself deleriously & melacholy she accepts the proposal (passive acceptance. Or her silence could be iinterpreted as her opting out of patriachal society as she does in the begining joining a convenant (defiant).
