What happens in act 3 scene 2 part 1

A

The Duke is outside of the prison where elbow and pompey are as Pompey is being imprisoned for being a bawd and a pick pocket, he asks Lucio to pay his bail but he refuses. Lucio then jokes to the duke as the friar about Angelo strictly upholding the law and could afford to be more lenient on the matter of lechery. Lucio goes onto make jokes about the duke uknowingly to his face which he threatens to report to the Duke after he arrives back .

What happens in act 3 scene 2 part 2

A

Escalous enters with M. overdone & provost to send her to prison for running a brothel. M.overdone argues that the evidence comes from Lucio who is guilty of fornication having a child of about a year old with a woman named Kate Keepdown, Ecalous calls for Lucios arrest. Escalous asks the Duke about the world to which he says everywhere is the same goodness has grown sick. Ending the scene the Duke delievers a soliloquoy on his commitement to trick Angelo.
