-The belief specific to Catholicism are mocked
-These include the existence of purgatory from which a soul may escape
- in Catholicism purgatory is a place or a state of being in which souls are made to purge through suffering before going to heaven
-Participants rejects the idea of purgatory so the archbishops explanation that there must be a runaway ghost from purgatory in the room would’ve been amusing to them
-they also reject the sign of the cross such as the pope makes to evoke God’s protection from the evil pestering him
-This practice involves tracing across from the forehead to chest and shoulder to shoulder
-Protestants at the time view the practice as superstitious

-The ritual in which f refers to a Bell book and candle is the catholic ritual of excommunication
-In which a person may be excluded permanently
-In this ceremony a death bell is wrong surrounding the death of the persons soul
-Then the holy Bible is shot cutting the person off from the world of God
-lastly a candle is sniffed out vanishing the person’s soul to external darkness
-it mocks Catholicism
