physical abuse
is any intentional act causing
injury or trauma to another person by way of bodily contact.
Neglect
Neglect is a form of abuse
where the perpetrator, who is
responsible for caring for
someone who is unable to care
for themselves, fails to do so
sexual
Sexual abuse also referred to as
molestation, is abusive sexual
behaviour by one person upon
another.
verbal
Verbal abuse is the act of
forcefully criticizing, insulting, or
denouncing another person.
Emotional/Psychological/Mental
Emotional abuse is when you
undermine another person’s
feelings of self-worth and
independence.
Christian view
Christians are as
concerned as everyone
else about the
enormous damage that
abuse causes.
Jewish view
Abuse is condemned in
Judaism.
Jews accept that a vast amount
of abuse goes on today within
the family.
It takes this abuse to be a
denial of everything that Jews
believe about family life.
Islam
Any kind of abuse whether physical or
mental is absolutely unacceptable in Islam.
Children are a highly valued gift from God
and are to be treasured and protected.
Hinduism
Abuse cannot be justified or excused in Hinduism.
Anyone who does abuse others will suffer greatly from the
effects of bad karma during many rebirths.
