Sesamoid
What are the bones of the foot?
Calcaneus, tali’s, cuboid, navicular, cuneiform (lat, intermediate and Med)
Metatarsals, proximal, middle and distal phalanges
What are the three arches and which bones form them?
Medial longitudinal: talus, navicular, calcaneus, cuneiforms and first 3 metatarsals
Lateral longitudinal: calcaneus, cuboid, fourth and fifth metatarsals
Transverse: cuboid, cuneiforms, base of all metatarsals
Which muscles strengthen the medial longitudinal arch?
Tibialis anterior and Peroneus longus
Which artery supplies the lower limb?
Femoral artery from the external iliac artery
What is the vein of the lower limb?
Small and great saphenous, tibial and fibula veins into the femoral and then external iliac vein
What are the nerves supplying the lower limb?
Femoral - L2-4
Obturator - L2-4
Sciatic (common Peroneal and tibial) - L4-S3
