What idea is voucher therapy based on?
The idea that if behaviour is reinforced or rewarded it is more likely to occur in the future.

- Higgins et al - 28 white males in Vermont with a serious cocaine problem were treated using voucher therapy, 2/3 of them stayed on for 6 months.
- Method could cause public uproar if addicts are paid not to be addicts!
- Higgins lacks population validity.
