What does the stabilizer trim override switch do
When the control column/pilot is moving the control column in the opposite direction of trim (fighting the trim= cutout switches will stop trim motion.
The STAB TRIM override switch will restore trim capabilities
If the AUTO SLAT FAIL light illuminates during recall, what has happned
A single SMYD (Stall Management Yaw Dampener) computer has failed
How many flight and ground spoilers are there on each wing?
2 ground spoilers 4 flight spoilers on each wing
Will the LE FLAPS TRANSIT light illuminate during autoslat operation?
No
When will the LE FLAPS TRANSIT light illuminate?
- Any LE device in transit
- Any LE device not in programmed position in regards to TE flaps
- two or more LE flaps or slats have moved away from their commanded position
Autoslats are powered by system B. What happens if system B loses pressure?
The autoslats can still be powered by the PTU, which in turn is powered by System A
What is the control column elevator jam override function
With enough force, the two pilot’s control columns can be separated, and still function (one of them), in an elevator jam situation
Does the main stabilizer and autopilot trim system use different motors?
No, they use the same motor
The FSEU provides which protections?
- Flap load relief with flaps in 30 or 40
- Asymmetry and skew conditions
- Indications for uncommanded position of TE or LE devices. Will stop the motion if two or more LE slats or flaps move uncommanded, or the TE flaps move uncommanded
If hydraulic system A and B are lost, what will power the flight controls?
Stby system will power rudder, ailerons and elevator will be by manual reversion
How many LE slats and flaps are located on each wing?
4 slats 1 flap
What will happen to the yaw dampener if hydraulic system B is lost?
It will not function
Can the yaw dampener be overridden?
Yes, using either the rudder pedals or rudder trim
What is the elevator feel system, and how does it work
A computer that uses airspeed from the elevator pitots, and stabilizer position to create a simulated aerodynamic load.
Uses either system A or B pressure, whichever is higher.
